Cities Ranked By Assessed Value

A clear picture of the economic status of the county can be captured by previewing the adjoining chart.

As should be expected, the city of Los Angeles, with its sprawling 3,694,820 population has accumulated a mammoth-like total Assessed Value of $22,338,360,000 —ranking number one in the county.

By now it should be even less surprising to see Lancaster and Palmdale, ranked 4th and 10th, respectively, with reported Assessed Values well above one-and-a-half billion dollars!

The City of Inglewood is ranked 15th, below 7 cities with a smaller population.

It should be noted that Cerritos—with less than half the population of Inglewood—has over double the Assessed Value of Inglewood. This is primarily a result of Cerritos using the CRA to finance and develop the noted Cerritos Performing Arts Center, which is owned and run by the city.

It should be also noted that a substantial portion of Inglewood’s $897,510,972 Assessed Value is due in no small part to development and resale of Hollywood Park Race Track and Casino, which is included in Inglewood’s Redevelopment Area and which adds inflated property values to the city’s total Assessed Value.
